Ethics Training

In order to maintain the BCSP code of ethics, BCSP now requires certification holders to undergo ethics training. Ethics speaks to moral principles and the respect of others. BCSP does not offer ethics training; however, a Google search can be conducted to identify ethics training courses that meet this requirement. Please refer to the BCSP Code of Ethics for reference to topics that should be covered in any ethics training course you choose.

This 0.5-point requirement must be met during your 5-year recertification cycle by completing ethics courses and/or webinars. Please note that the 0.5 points is included in your overall required recertification points and not an add-on.

For example: If you are a CSP credential holder, you are required to meet a 25-point requirement NOT 25.5

There is a drop-down selection in Category 7 of your recertification worksheet and "Ethics Training" should be selected. You will then need to enter the additional required information; course name, date, contact hours or CEU's earned for the ethics training course you took.

IMPORTANT: The ethics training requirement ONLY applies to certification holders with a recertification cycle start date
on or after July 1, 2023.

Please note: If you are using the CIH or CHMM credential to meet your recertification requirements, you must still add the minimum of 0.5 points of ethics training in Category 7 of your recertification worksheet.
